Yes there should be some independent company monitoring all ringtones and wallpaper sales, I am an artist and I receive payment for my ringtones. When I receive my report I have to take the aggregators

Hi, there was a message on Myspace about this issue, I am in support of an independent company monitoring ringtones sales, because we only have the word of the carriers. In light of AT&T's settlement of fraud, Im sure artist are also being scammed regarding our sales.

i just make my own ringtones and load them myself from music which i bought, and thats legal,
so i think the artists will fight a losing battle over time, because ringtone sales will decline.

yes, i believe they should. but will they do it? that's the real issue here. and they should also monitor those ringtone sites that are pirating music made by this artist, ripping hundreds of artist in millions for their gain, without paying royalty to the artist.
