Obama to get Arizona governor's endorsement
NEW YORK, Jan. 11 (AP) - (Kyodo)—The U.S. state of Arizona's governor is endorsing Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination for U.S. president, new support that could be key for Obama in a state where Republicans long prevailed, the Associated Press reported Friday.
Gov. Janet Napolitano planned to make her intentions known during a conference call Friday, the report said, citing an individual familiar with her plans.
The endorsement is a major gain for Obama in his race against chief rival Sen. Hillary Clinton, a Democrat from New York.
