2008 NH Democratic Presidential Debate

Obama to win on Super Tuesday

Chris Dodd and Joe Biden -- two very competent Senators with impressive records in the Senate -- are headed back to the Senate; they have both announced that they are dropping out of the Presidential race. Mike Gravel has also dropped out, to go back to Alaska to take a nap.

Richardson got 2%, and has not announced his withdrawal. Kucinich didn't drop out until very late in 2004; he's not going to withdraw any time soon either.

Prediction -- Obama knocks out my man John Edwards in New Hampshire. Edwards needed to win and be seen as the agent of change. That didn't happen.

So we have the two big dogs -- Clinton and Obama -- spending their big money between now and February 5.

And I think Obama will do it. Clinton's rhetorical point against Obama -- that he is inexperienced -- turns out to be his selling point. His biggest applause line is when he says, "Experience is overrated. Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld had experience, and look where they got us!"

I don't see a "magic bullet" negative that Hillary can run against Obama that will have any chance of being effective.

So on February 5, Barack Obama wraps up the nomination.
